1 Apologises
There were apologises from James Witheroe and Michael Taylor.
2 Minutes of 20 April, 2005 meeting
The minutes of the 20 April 2005 were agreed and signed as a fair record.
3 Matters arising
There were no matters arising that were not on the agenda.
4 Terms of reference
There was discussion as to points raised by AF. It was agreed that the wording did not affect the responsibilities of the members.
5 Channel behind school
IEM said that he would chase the engineer for an update. (IEM has since heard that B Flynn is trying to get something to the Env Agency in the near future)
6 Fardell's Lane land visit
IEM said that he would liaise with Nick Grimshaw to arrange a visit (subsequent to the meeting and following discussion with NG it seemed that September was the likely time for a visit)
7 Work at sluice
It was agreed that the need for a public meeting to discuss the sluice would be raised at a forthcoming PC meeting.
8 A14 amendment proposals
The committee concurred with the principal CHUMS proposal of a three lane road with a drop down at Huntingdon.
9 Minor Highways improvements
It was agreed that the committee should propose that the PC again apply for a lowering of the road surface on the Smith Street Bridge.
11 Cambridge Water Fund
It was agreed that the PC should encourage applications from Jubilee Club, the PCC for the church roof and the gate on Broad End. (IEM has given info to J Howell and AF was to talk to Jubilee Club).
12 Design of area around village sign
An outline draft of a possible scheme was produced at the meeting. AT agreed to get some input from Sue Taylor. It was generally agreed that an effort should be made to enhance this area.
13 Traffic calming
There were comments on the sharpness of the new cushion on Blockley Road.
14 Kerb heights
It was agreed that more use should be made of bollards before introducing high concrete kerbs. There was also a concern that the CCC Councillor may promote further kerbing without consultation with the Parish Council.
15 Vacant Homes in Paddock Row
The point was noted.
16 Work on Pumping station
No information
17 Electricity line undergrounding
IEM tabled some recent correspondence bedew P Canegy and elf Energy re undergrounding in The Causeway and Brook Street... In view of the fact that edf wish to do this work in the autumn it was agreed that the PC should discuss this issue at the forthcoming meeting. IEM also said that he would write to N Grimshaw alerting him to the proposal and asking what assistance, if any, SCDC could offer.
